My photography has always been about capturing moments. The beauty of an approaching storm, or the feeling of awe when immersed in nature, or the empathy that comes from a glimpse into the life of another human being. When I encounter these moments, I want what I capture to blossom into a moment in the viewer's day where they can see, feel, or understand just a little bit more.
My photography has been influenced by the darkness and light around me (and inside me). With my camera, I confront the darkness and look for the light in it, because there is still beauty to be found in darkness and because there is nothing more true than "This too shall pass." I also use my camera to celebrate the light, lose myself in it, and pass it on because, unfortunately, there is nothing more true than "This too shall pass."
If someone looks at one of my images and feels something, that's all I could hope for. I don't shoot to impress or for sales or for "likes." I simply try to challenge myself, and try to capture something that encourages me and the viewer to look at the world around us with open eyes, open minds, and open hearts.
